What are you guys planning on buying? Or since a lot of sales have started, what have you bought?
I'm in Canada, so our retailers do a lame-ass attempt at sales and deals to try and prevent people from border jumping to the big sales. I've never been the person to go fight crowds for a sale, Boxing Day last year I bought a TV, but I paid Best Buy online and just went and picked it up a day later.
Are you guys planning on buying anything, or will it be an impulse buy because a big red sign says 50%-your wife is on the other side of the store-and you've therefore convinced yourself you
NEED
the complete Nic Cage boxset?
Any car purchase hopefuls?
I'm thinking just a 2013 Nexus7 from Amazon.

Buick's taking $2373 off their cars for Black Friday; a good time to snag a Regal GS Turbo.

That Nexus would be a good purchase. I did Black Friday two years ago. Got a $300 42" TV. It still works great. So I don't have to go back yet.

On Thursday we're hitting Walmart to get a laptop for $178 for my parent's Christmas gift, and we're going to Target I think for a 50inch TV for $229. Originally we were going to get a 40inch at Walmart for $178 but for $40 more why not get the 50inch? I'm pretty damn excited to get it. I think we're getting COD Ghosts for $39 for her brother too.

Sony will be offering $100 off the PS4 along with 4 controllers, a map of Japan, and the ability to pre-order Metal Gear Solid 5.
/2 Brack Friday Bunduru mentions in one day.

Nothing because all our money is going to the Dakota.

I'll likely cruise around online and try to get some Christmas shopping done. I have a niece this year so I need to research the best toys.

I'm going to buy... Best Buy.

Eh, he asked for COD and NBA 2k14. Is Battlefield that much better? It seems to me like Ford vs Chevy between COD and Battlefield, where it comes down to personal preference.

Buy the Packard plant, then invite us over to smash windows and huck filing cabinets off the roof.

Well if you compare the two down to what COD has to offer with "new" things into their games, BF has had it for a little while longer. See Battlefield Bad Company 1-2 and BF3.

Apartment stuff for early 2014 after the wedding. A ok sized TV, furniture, random restroom, living room, and kitchen chingaderas.

With COD, they could keave the basic game alone and just update the guns and maps and I would be happy. If I still had it, I'd probably still play Modern Warefare 1.
I rarely play video games anymore anyway, so I'm content with Black Ops 2 for now. I've been playing GTAV and Arkham City more lately too.

I'm going to buy the Packard plant, then convert it into a Best Buy. And then I'll use the profits to buy DETROIT, then invite everyone over to hoon the streets and set skyscrapers on fire.

She'll be just shy of 7 months. I was thinking Duplo (which is just big Lego anyways, and I think owned by Lego) and get her blurays of some classic Disney movies - Lion King, Aladdin, etc., and some of those princess girly ones.
Bottom line I need to show up whatever the grandparents get her, aka my parents.

Fisher Price Little People are always a safe bet too. My sister loved those when she was little.

Why $2373? Did they pick that number out of a hat? I hope it's actually like $2373.43

Rightstuf.com will probably devourer my wallet whole. Also I saw that game stop was going to have Ni No Kuni for $13.

See lol, I havent even heard of those. I'll have to take the GF to Toys R US to do some serious research. I feel weird at the thought of going in that store alone.

Nothing.
We're boycotting black Friday.
It used to be fine when stores just opened a few hours early, but now it's ridiculous that stores open ON Thanksgiving. I feel bad for all those people being forced to work on a national holiday. Retail jobs have always had really crappy hours, but at least you got holidays off. Now, you don't even get that.
So, as a result, we're avoiding the stores at all costs this week.

Can I use my supplier discount on it as well?
![]() 11/25/2013 at 13:03 |

What brand? I'm always a little wary of the discount 40-50 inch TV brands because I've usually never heard of them, and reviews are always mixed.

Oh, I wouldn't recommend buying a $300 TV. Now that I recall, it was $300 out the door, so it actually cost $250 plus I bought some miscellaneous accessories. But I wouldn't advise it. I just needed a cheap TV to last me a year. I figured if it made it a year, I'd have gotten my money's worth. Two years and going strong is surprising to me. It's an Element, and I got it at Target. But again, buy a nice TV. It's worth it. Unless it puts you into debt.
Against my strong advice, my in-laws bought a Best Buy brand TV last year. It sucks. Didn't make it through the year, and all the services they purchased as addons were worthless.

Yeah, I think I'll wait for an LG or something to drop. Or resign myself to a sub-40 inch TV *shudder*

I'm planning on trying to pick up a PS Vita, assuming I can find a good enough sale. There are enough games for it now that I feel like I can get my money's worth, plus the promise of official English localized VNs coming...
Oh, and unless something really exceptional happens, I'm going to do all my shopping online. Screw dealing with crowds.

I got my parents an LG plasma, 42" back in 06, I think. Whenever Good Guys finally went completely out of business. It still works all right.

Not a damn thing. I'm done with black friday.
While everyone else is waiting in the middle of the freezing night for hours, in preparation for trampling each other to save a few bucks, I'm waking up at a reasonable time and going to the LA Auto Show.

I will be at work, bored out of my mind and getting paid double on Black Friday, then meeting the girlfriends mother. Should be a good day.

As a Hot Wheels and Lego collector, I spend alot of time in toy aisles getting strange looks from people. Usually they think I work there.
And these are the ones, seems they have something for everyone.

Yeah they're always cut and paste but I enjoyed the original MW so that works for me, buy it's also why I never rush out to get the new one. GTA is something I rush out to get.

Last year, I discovered that Black Friday can be an awesome day to buy a car! The 2013 Mazda CX-9 had a mildly updated exterior and a few minor interior changes. Dealers still had quite a few 2012 CX-9s with heavy incentives. I decided on a 2012 CX-9 Grand Touring (FWD) with the Moonroof/Bose Package in Crystal White Pearl with Sand Leather. It stickered for $38,385 and I paid $29,706 plus $66 tag/title fee plus sales tax. That was $8679 off sticker and I got $200 over KBB "Very Good" Trade-In Value for my trade. I didn't finance thru the dealer or buy any of the extras they try to push in the F&I office. So I got a heckuva deal!

That is a damn good deal! Great CUV too

Thanks, I also have a 2006 Mazda3 s 5-door that I bought new and I swear the CX-9 handles just as good. I kept it because it gets 25-26mpg overall and the CX-9 only gets about 18mpg. I was only planning to drive the CX-9 about 8-10k miles per year and still use the 3 10-12k miles per year. But the CX-9 will have about 17,500 on it hits the one year mark on Friday and I haven't even put 3k on my poor old 3 in the last year! =)
The only thing I'd do differently is get a different color. I was planning to get a color called Dolphin Gray which looked great in photos. But when I saw it under the bright lights of the showroom, it had a sickly green hue that I couldn't handle. I wanted the Sand Leather and don't do dark colors, so I ended up with the Crystal White Pearl by default. I really wish I had got the Liquid Silver even though it only came with Black Leather. But all the Silver ones within 250 miles of me were either AWD and/or had Navigation and I didn't want either feaurre. So I'm content with what I got, especially for the price....
